Appointments

Appointment lengths – Standard or long appointment

How long will you need for your appointment with your doctor:

  • Standard appointment – If you have one medical issue to discuss with your doctor, please book a standard appointment.
  • Long appointment – If you have two medical issues to discuss with your doctor please book a long appointment.
  • Family appointments – We are happy to see more than one family member, please book an appointment for each person
  • For small procedures and pap smears please book a long appointment.

If you are unsure about which appointment length you should book, please contact our friendly reception staff for advice.

Interpreter Service – If you or a relative require an interpreter for your consultation please advise our reception staff when making your appointment.

What to bring to your appointment

Please remember to bring to your appointment:

  • Your Medicare, DVA, Seniors or Concession Card
  • List of any medications, allergies or recent test results
  • New patients – Arrive 10 minutes early to fill in a new patient and medical history form or – New Patient Form 2024 (PDF 245kB).

Bulk Billing – Monday to Friday

We Bulk Bill patients with the following valid cards:

  • Pension Card | Healthcare Card | Senior Healthcare Card
  • Children aged 0-16 years with a Medicare Card
  • Secondary school students aged 16-18 years with a Medicare Card and Student ID.

In special circumstances your doctor may choose to bulk bill you – Please discuss with your doctor.

New Patients

New patient fee requirements – A deposit of $50 will be required for the first Appointment booking in which will be added to your visit once you have attended the surgery and then processed with the balance of your visit then processed for your Medicare rebate.

Move to Mixed Billing/Private Billing Fee Schedule – 1st January 2022

The amount set by the Government for a medical consultation is insufficient to cover the costs of providing a high quality medical service under the current Bulk Billing system. As a result Bay Village Medical Centre has made the difficult decision to introduce private/mixed billing fees for some patients.

How to pay

You can conveniently pay any outstanding fees at the conclusion of your appointment at reception via:

  • Cash
  • Eftpos
  • Visa
  • Mastercard
  • Direct Deposit – Curans Pty Ltd – BSB 082-528  Acc 127222081 with Invoice number for processing.

  • There is a small surcharge on credit card and debit card transactions
  • We do not accept American Express or Diners Card.

Medicare rebate – Online claiming

If you have a Medicare card and have nominated your bank account details with Medicare, we can submit your Medicare claim online at the time of payment. Your rebate will be deposited directly into your account, within 1-2 business days.

Alternatively, we can supply a receipt so you can claim your rebate at the time of payment to Medicare.
